I'm about to be lame and do a 2007 run-down just because. Went back and read all of my blogs from this year exactly 100. That's pretty darn impressive for someone who just started blogging in March. I've gained new blogging buddies and have been able to alleviate a little of my ranting at home. I realized that I wrote about 3 main things, black people, illegal immigration, and religion.
Worst offenders (in no particular order) in the Black community:
1. The NFL - I do not understand how this many wealthy black men can committ so many dumbass crimes. Did they change the acronym to Niggas Fo' Life and no one told me?
2. Michael Vick - nothing better to do with you millions of dollars and adoring fans? He's a prime candidate for those nationwide insurance life comes at you fast commercials.
3. Al Sharpton - I swear, if I see him all high and mightly on tv one more time this year I'm going to hunt him down and shave that damn perm off!!!!!!!!! Hello white establishment he's not the spokesperson for us negroes!
4. Don Imus, Michael Richards and Dog the Bounty hunter - eventhough I wasn't greatly offended by any of their rants they were all very mean spirited and highly unnecessary.
5. Those sorry ass rednecks that tortured Megan Williams - nuff said
6. Anything having to do with Flava Flav, BET, I love NY - Do we not have enough negative stereotypes do we have to create more?
7. Hip-hop - This was the worst year in music ever. Everybody sucked even the old heads that came back sucked.
8. Young black men - giving a toddler marajuana, gang raping a woman and her son, joy riding in DC, shooting other black people for NO DAMN REASON, having 80% of new HIV cases in DC, the DL.
9. New Orleans - Still not fixed (WTF Bush??). Blacks threatening to burn down or destroy whites homes if housing projects are raized in the city. Not the right way to demand equality.
10. Jena 6 - Started off as 6 poor black teenagers who were railroaded by a racist court system. Morphed into an us vs. them, black people shouldn't be held accountable for their own actions fiasco. On a positive note the charges did seem more balanced after the march and protests. But pictures of the offending boys with bling, hundred dollar bills and appearances at the BET awards didn't really endear them to the public.
Thank God for the Good ones
1. Barack Obama - eventhough according to my beliefs he's not black, he's a bad man. He appears to me to be the only person running for president that is sincere. I might not agree with his stance on most issue gotta respect his embrace of positivity and his strong sista of a wife.
2. Bill Cosby - Still isn't backing down from his comments. Get em' Cos!
3. Oprah - Say what you want she really does care
4. Sean Taylor - he may have had some hoodlum missteps when he was young but it appeared that he was really trying to make his life positive and productive.
5. Michael Baisden - He rallied the troops for injustice, gotta respect that.
6. Genarlow Wilson - Finally released from prison, looking and sounding like a respectable young man. No hostility, just thanking God, his family, lawyers and supporters.
7. Jasari X - I probably spelled his name all types of wrong but his Jena 6 song was the bomb.
8. Young Black Females - record rates of college graduation, perfect SAT scores, Genius grant winners, lowest rates of teenage pregnancy in years, lowest rates of drug abuse. Step you game up fellas.
9. Chris Paul - On the Donnie Simpson morning show took the crap ass songs of the year and made them the stuff while celebrating the Redskins (Now FedEx Yooooooouuuuuuuuuu, crank that Redskins)
10. People I know - Respectable women and men who work, take care of their fams, getting married, having kids, while staying our fabulous educated selves. Pat on the back to everyone on my friends list.
1 Political Issue - Illegal Immigration
Worst Offenders:
1. Mexico - 68% of all illegal immigrants come from this one country. I don't want to hear that oh it's a poor country crap. Mexico has a higher GNI than EVERY country in Africa.
2. Hypocrites - don't complain about illegal immigrants then have them working for you (Romney and Guiliani)
3. The Democratic Party - Why are we rewarding criminal behavior?
4. La Raza - All Latinos are not illegal stop blurring the lines!
5. The Washington Post - Not a week has gone by that they haven't run some sob story about how bad illegal immigrants have it.
6. Any company based in the US that has you press a number for English.
7. Black leaders fighting for illegal immigrant rights - kinda the opposite of what black people need.
8. Latino organizations trying (in vain) to compare their struggle to the civil rights movement - Civil rights movement = fairness and equality for all regardless of race. Illegal immigrant sympathizers = inequality
9. Gangs - how the hell are you going to come to my country and act a fool? We have enough US bred criminals (see young black men above)
Sanity may very well prevail:
1. Republicans - Whether it's racism, nativism or plain old hate, at least they realize that they work for American citizens
2. Geno's - No english, no cheesesteak
3. Prince William County, VA - Pack em up ship em out
4. Immigrants of all nationalities who continue to follow the laws to enter and work in this country.
5. ICE - They are actually doing their jobs every now and then.
6. Latinos who speak out against their brethren who make lives worse for them.
7. Electrified Border fence with snipers and moat filled with sharks, gators and electric eels - ok maybe I just made that one up.
Jesus, Allah, Buddah, love them all!
Heathens:
1. The Mormon cult in Utah - Raping little kids, marrying cousing and underage girls, wrong, wrong, wrong
2. Claiming Obama is a muslim bent on turning the country over to Al-Qaeda - paranoid much?
3. George W. Bush - No other president has so used a religion based on peace to justify the murder, assault, and discrimination of so many people.
4. Fundamentalist Islam - From killing, raping and whipping women for... well I really don't know, to imprisoning a woman for calling a teddy bear Muhammad to recently assasinating Benazir Bhutto, is there any wonder the rest of us think islam is a violent hate based religion?
5. Evangelical Christians - All appear to be self-loathing homosexuals. Be out and proud you'll be a lot less hate-filled.
6. The State Government of Georgia for holding a prayer service for water - I think that's unconstitutional
7. Juanita Bynum and the rest of the black inspirational get along gang - These people are jacked up and lead you to believe they aren't. Pray, meditate, discuss, do whatever you need but don't listen to these hacks who preach about how to have a long lasting positive marriage when they're being abused. Would you take sex advice from a nun? Then don't listen to them.
8. Black churches - There are some good ones but if I may quote Michael Baisden they are filled with "pimps in the pulpit". Don't be bamboozled.
9. Huckabee, Romney, Guiliani - just because.
The Enlightened
1. The Good Christians - The ones who don't judge, they dedicate their lives to helping their fellow man.
2. Sir Alistair Rai - Wonderful fashion designer that incorporated peaceful mantras from Buddhism, Hinduism, Martin Luther King, etc. into their clothing.
3. Churches that are not run by bigotry - Any church that allows men or women regardless of their sexuality to serve God.
4. Scientology - Just because I think they get a bad rap. As far as I'm concerned it's just as ridiculous as any other religion. You have to look past the randomness to the core which is about helping people.
5. South Park - For making religion funny.
6. Tyler Perry - He incorporates his religious beliefs into all his work without being preachy and it's always positive.
7. Oprah (again) - for bringing attention to the power of positivity, it'll change your life for the better.
8. Anyone open-minded enough to discuss and really disect religion and the role it plays in the world.
So there you go my 2007 wrap-up. It's been an interesting year to say the least. Wishing everyone a happy 2008!
